Sephiria Elru - Hide and Seek Locations & Ingenuity

Start the right Destiny Inscription event, find Elru in three easy-to-miss town spots, then confirm that the Ingenuity Talent unlocked.

Version 1.0 Searches 3 Unlock Ingenuity Talent

Who Is Elru?

Elru is a story and quest character, not a playable Costume. Her Hide-and-Seek event belongs to town progression and unlocks a permanent Talent category rather than a new skin.

This distinction matters because the Characters hub uses Costume for the gameplay variants selected before a run. If Elru is missing, do not search the Costume room. Check the active quest, Destiny Inscription progress, and town locations instead.

Quest Overview and Prerequisites

The supplied community-wiki source describes Destiny Inscription as the permanent unlock system purchased with Sapphires earned in the dungeon. Its event list ties the Hide-and-Seek node to the Ingenuity Talent.

  1. Open Destiny Inscription.Make sure the Hide-and-Seek event node is purchased and available on your current save.
  2. Return to town.Follow Elru-related dialogue until the active objective asks you to find her or ask around.
  3. Complete three searches in order. After each interaction, let the objective update before moving to the next area.
  4. Finish the event.Complete the closing dialogue, then open Talents outside the dungeon and confirm Ingenuity is selectable.
Prerequisite check

If the Hide-and-Seek node itself is unavailable, continue the connected Destiny Inscription path and collect the required Sapphires shown by your 1.0 client. The supplied sources do not support publishing a fixed Sapphire price.

Hide and Seek - All Three Locations

The objective can sound like an NPC interview task, but a 1.0-era Steam community thread reports that Elru is already hiding. Search the three places below in sequence.

Community clueThese coordinates are player-reported rather than an official TEAM HORAY walkthrough. Confirm each objective update in your client.
1South

First Hide - Trees at the Bottom of Town

Go to the bottom, or south edge, of the town map. Sweep through the dense trees rather than staying on the main path. The report places Elru inside the foliage, so approach the tree line closely and watch for the interaction prompt.

Confirm: interact with Elru and wait for the quest text to advance before leaving the area.

2North-east

Second Hide - Top-Right Woods

Move to the top-right, or north-east, woods. Trace the outer tree line and step behind the canopy where the character sprite can blend into the leaves. If nothing responds, return to the first location and make sure its dialogue completed.

Confirm: the objective should progress again after the second interaction.

3Inside

Third Hide - Puzzle Room, Behind the Right Column

Enter the large mural or mosaic puzzle building near the upper-middle of town, to the left of the main tree. Inside the puzzle room, check behind the column on the right. This final spot is indoors, not behind the building outside.

Gate: the community report says this is a building unlocked earlier. A closed room points to missing quest or story progress, not a different hiding place.

Ingenuity - Unlock and Use

The supplied Japanese community wiki states that purchasing the Hide-and-Seek Destiny Inscription and finishing its event unlocks the Talent written there as 機智. This guide follows the English search term Ingenuity; check the label in your current localization.

Ingenuity is allocated in the Talent screen outside the dungeon. The source says Talent points can be freely reassigned there, so use the branch when its survival, choice, bag, or Combo benefits fit the next run.

Stuck? Common Bugs and Checks

The “ask around” counter does not move

Stop repeating every NPC. While that Elru objective is active, inspect the trees at the bottom of town first. This is the exact confusion recorded in the Steam thread.

The next hiding place is empty

Return to the previous location, approach from another angle, and complete every Elru dialogue box. Do not skip ahead until the objective updates.

The puzzle room is closed

The third clue depends on an earlier building unlock. Continue the active story or prerequisite event shown by your Journal, then come back. Searching outside the building will not substitute for the interior column.

Ingenuity is still locked

Confirm the Hide-and-Seek node was purchased, all three interactions completed, and the closing event dialogue finished. Then leave the event scene and reopen Talents in town.

The objective appears frozen

Check that Sephiria is on the latest 1.0 update, return to the title screen after saving, and reload the slot. TEAM HORAY’s official support FAQ recommends checking current Update Notes first.

It still looks like a real bug

Record the exact objective, client version, and a short video. Use the official support instructions to verify game files when updates have failed, then send the current and previous session logs with the report.

FAQ

Where is Elru during Hide and Seek?

Player reports place her first in the trees at the bottom of town, second in the top-right woods, and third inside the upper-middle puzzle or mural building behind the right-hand column.

Do I need to talk to every NPC for “Ask around to find Elru”?

The Steam community report says no. With the objective active, begin at the bottom tree line and look for Elru herself.

What does the Elru quest unlock?

The supplied community-wiki evidence ties the Hide-and-Seek Destiny Inscription event to the Ingenuity Talent category.

Is Elru a playable Costume?

No. This guide treats Elru as a story quest character. Playable variants are called Costumes and belong in the Characters directory.

Why can’t I enter the third location?

The final hiding place is inside a puzzle room that the community report describes as previously unlocked. Continue the prerequisite story or quest progress shown by the current Journal before searching there.
